Preparing Items for an Indoor Storage Space

Preparing Items for an Indoor Storage Space

Are you planning to rent storage now or in the future? If so, this series of articles is for you. We’ve been discussing how to prepare your belongings to be moved to a climate controlled storage space. Our previous article talked about the importance of cleaning and carefully packing everything you plan to move to an indoor storage space. Let’s look at two more tips to consider.

Label Boxes and Containers

Label all of your boxes and storage containers so that you can easily find what you’re looking for should you need to access any items in the future. Labeling your boxes and storage containers is crucial for keeping track of your belongings so be sure to designate the contents clearly and legibly on the outside of each container before transporting them to your climate controlled storage space.

Prioritize and Inventory

Prioritize what items you may need to have ready access to and load them in last, so they are in the front of your indoor storage space. Also, make a list of all of the items you’re storing so you can easily keep track of everything you have in storage. This will come in handy in the future, especially if want to retrieve something without opening every box first.
