Choosing the Correct Size Storage Space for Your Needs

in Storage

Temperature Controlled Storage SpaceWhen it comes to public storage, it is often difficult to gauge the size storage space you will need. Storage rates vary with size, so it is important to inventory and evaluate the items you plan to place in temperature controlled storage.  If you are seeking to rent storage, our friendly staff can certainly help you determine which size storage space will best suit your needs.

5’ X 5’ (25 sq. ft.)

Equivalent to a small closet, this temperature controlled storage space is often suitable for a chest of drawers or mattress set as well as several boxes and smaller items.

5’ X 10’ (50 sq. ft.)

Public storage space this size is comparable to a walk-in closet and can accommodate a mattress set, dining room set OR chest of drawers as well as some boxes and smaller items.

5’ X 15’ (75 sq. ft.)

The size of a small bedroom, customers often rent storage space that is 5’ X 15’ to store standard furnishings for a one bedroom apartment without appliances OR 150 file boxes.

10’ X 10’ (100 sq. ft.)

Moving up in size, a 10’ X 10’ temperature controlled storage space is the size of an average bedroom.  It can accommodate the furnishings and appliances of a one bedroom apartment or two office suites.

10’ X 15’ (150 sq. ft)

Encompassing the size of a large bedroom, this public storage space can accommodate furnishings and appliances of a two bedroom apartment or small home.  It is also long enough to fit carpet rolls and building materials.

10’ X 20’ (200 sq. ft.)

Now we are getting into the large public storage spaces.  A 10’ X 20’ can fit the furnishings and appliances of a two bedroom house or construction equipment for those who prefer temperature controlled.

10’ X 25’ (250 sq. ft.)

Equivalent to a large one car garage, this size temperature controlled storage space accommodates the furnishings and appliances of a three bedroom house, boxes and garage extras.

10’ X 30’ (300 sq. ft.)

This storage space is the size of an extra-long one car garage.  It can store furnishings for a five bedroom house with appliances, boxes and garage extras.
